A few weeks back, we ran a post asking for our readers’ feedback, and many obliged! The responses were insightful and genuine. We appreciate the input and want to share some of the guidance we received.

Most of those who responded were either between the ages of 12 and 18 or 46 to 65. The education level of respondents was diverse, from middle school and high school to many with college degrees, including one with a doctorate.

Most who took our survey were interested in store employment as opposed to working in our corporate, distribution or manufacturing facilities. That includes many Publix associates who indicated they are happy right where they are.

We promote our blog on many platforms, so it’s no surprise that respondents found the posts from various points of entry. The majority found out about our blog from the Publix Careers website, but quite a few found it through our LinkedIn announcements.

The three posts that were the most popular were these:

We’ll make sure we publish those again in the future for people who haven’t yet read them, but you can check out our archive at any time to read past blog entries.

As for future posts, as diverse as our audience is, the suggestions covered a myriad of subjects. We’ll be paying close attention to those topics when we work on new pieces.

One thing we discovered is that those who responded not only like the length of our blogs, but a few respondents want them to be longer. They also want to see more infographics and photos as well as more links to interesting stories on the web.

We’re grateful to those who took the time to complete our survey. As you can see, the feedback has been received and evaluated. And soon we will act on these suggestions. However, you don’t have to wait for a formal survey to tell us what you think. Feel free to offer suggestions right in our comment section below if anything else comes to your mind.

Hello! I recently started working as a seafood specialist at my publix, where can I find pdfs of my departments manuals? I’d like to spend time reading them at home because we are all so busy at work and our manuals can’t leave the store. The more that I fully understand will help me move up and help all of my coworkers and myself make better choices wto help us exceed our customers’ expectations. thank you.

Antwon, your eagerness to learn and work ethic is admirable! Your best bet is to speak with your department manager about opportunities to review the manuals. Thank you for your contribution to Publix!

      Anite:

Thank you for applying! We don’t have application information here at corporate. You will need to ask a manager at the store where you applied. Feel free to also speak with managers at surrounding stores, as they can also see your application.

I really like all of the advice that you give to people on this site. It has encouraged me to take the leap of faith and apply at a local Publix in front of my house. My reason for not doing it sooner is because they have a sign up that they haven’t had any positions open since 2011. I’ve been wondering if that could be true or if they just have that up so that the mangers do not get people asking everyday. That is the only Publix that is that close to me. All I have to do is go through an open a gate, walk down the shopping plaza and I’m there! I will still take a position at any other Publix if they are hiring. I just hope they are hiring at the store closes to me because sometimes I see new people working when I go shopping.

I imagine they just forgot to take that sign down. Please ask to speak with the Customer Service Manager to find out about staffing needs in that store. And thank you for reaching out!

You’re welcome! There’s one more thing that I’ am worried about though if you can help me out with some information on it. I worked for Publix before back in 2006 when I was eighteen turning nineteen years old. This obviously makes me a former employee. My problem is is that back then I quit without notice. I know that is a NO NO! But I was young, just graduated high school and to be completely honest cared more about my “life after high school” than putting in hours at work. I basically didn’t know any better and just stopped showing up to work. It was almost three whole months that I worked there. So my question would be what is the rehire policy at Publix? And would I be considered for rehire with a no show in my record as a former Publix employee?

Thank you for your dedicated service to Publix! The best way to find out about career paths in our stores is to speak with your Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. When your District Manager visits your store, also speak to him or her. They know the ropes and they are the decision-makers, so listen to their advice. Happy New Year!

If you have questions about policies and regulations, you are advised to contact your Associate Relations Specialist. You can find his or her contact information on your workplace bulletin board, either in the breakroom or by the time clock. I hope this helps.

    Hi,

I am a former employee of Publix. In December 2014 I asked for a transfer to a the Boca Raton area from Palm Beach Gardens. At the time their were no transfer stores available near by were I am and I was not able to make it to Palm Beach Gardens store because I do not drive. After couple days I was not able to login to my employee login. I am wondering, since my transfer was never completed if I am eligible for rehire and who would I contact?

I am very impressed with your willingness to provide information to potential Publix employees. As a loyal and satisfied Publix customer for over thirty years (in FL) I am once again impressed with the manner in which Publix conducts business. A consistent world class business leader.

Kathy Jean, that is so nice to hear! Thank you for the compliment! Have a wonderful day.

My name is kervens ceus i aplied for deli associate or cashier i want to know if yall a position open thank you

    • Maura Satchell June 20, 2016 at 8:29 am #

Hi Kervens, thank you for your question. What we advise is that you head to the store at which you applied and speak with a manager to let him or her know you’ve submitted an application. Ask if there are any openings and you can share why you would make a great Publix associate. Be sure to say your name clearly and perhaps even spell it out since it is an unusual one. Also, remember to update your application at the JAC within 30 days so it does not become inactive. If that happens, managers can not view your application. Best of luck!
