In your case, check them out and if there are none listed for Seafood Department in Orlando, I’d suggest you reach out to Debbie.White@publix.com . She is our Retail Staffing Specialist for the Orlando area and has a good handle on what needs that area has.       Hi Barry, thank you for your message. Many of our associates came to apply because they loved the atmosphere and it sounds like you fall into that category, too! The openings change frequently and we list some of them at this link: bit.ly/StoreCOs , but we advise that you simply head to your nearest Publix and apply at the Job Application Center. Afterwards, speak with a manager to let him or her know you applied and that you frequent the store. You can ask them if there are any openings or if they anticipate any in the near future. You can visit other nearby stores and do the same since they, too will have access to your application details. I hope this helps. Have a great afternoon!

      Hi James, as that blog post mentioned: “If your city is listed above, there is a job opening in the Meat and Seafood department, so simply head to your nearest Publix in that city and apply!” Orlando is mentioned in that blog post and applying is pretty simple.       Your best bet is to apply at a store near you and then speak with a manager to enquire. They are right there and know the current and future outlook to the minute.

      Hi Gene, since we have more than 1,000 stores, there are many more openings than the ones we might be aware of here in our corporate office. Here’s why: Openings change constantly – too fast for us to capture and publish before they are filled. When Store Managers need help finding applicants for a certain position, they alert our recruiters and we post the information on our Critical Openings list. But when Store Managers have a lot of active applications for an opening, they move quickly to interview and hire the best candidates. So if you’re looking for an opportunity to work at a Publix store, here is my advice:
      Go to the Job Application Center kiosk in the Publix store where you most want to work. You will need 30-40 minutes to complete the application process. The JAC, as we call it, is usually at the front of the store. If you can’t find it, any store associate can show you where it is. After applying, go to the Customer Service desk and ask to speak with a manager. Then briefly explain why you would make a great Publix associate. Ask what openings there are in the store, but please know that not every manager will know about every opening in the store. If you want to, go speak to the manager in the department where you most want to work. Your application can be seen at other Publix stores in the area. So feel free to stop by some of those stores to talk with managers there about your interest in working for our company. You will only be called if a manager wants to interview you. We receive nearly 2 million applications per year for about 50,000 openings, so we unfortunately can’t call everyone. I hope this helps.

    I have read that a new store will be opening in Pigeon Forge in early 2016. I am having a home built there as we speak and will be relocating about that time. I have been running a high volume seafood market in Florida for 26 years and have a vast amount of experience in all areas of the field. Is there anyone I can submit a resume to before an actual job posting?

    Hello, my name is Gary, I’ve worked for a large company for 5 years as a Meat Associate. All our meat comes to us prepackaged with an oxygen eater pack in each, therefore I do not cut meat, but a very cautious about freshness.

    I would love to work for Publix as a meat clerk, wrapper or meat cutter trainee. I live in St. Petersburg, FL and understand a new store is being built downtown and would like to work at that store very much. Thank you.

My recommendation is that you head over to a Publix store near the new location, and apply at the Job Application Center kiosk. Afterwards, speak with a manager and let him or her know of your experience and interest in working at the new store and in the Meat and Seafood Department. Best of luck!

    Hello, my name is Kiateh and I’ve worked at Publix for almost 5 years now in the deli department. I’m full time and was wondering if it is possible for someone in my position already currently employed in the deli FT to transfer to the Meat Department or am I locked into the deli. Will they demote me to part-time if I ask and I’m transferred and have me start from the beginning? And lastly is their a way to look to see if their are openings anywhere in my area without having to travel from Publix to Publix.

      Thank you for your years of loyal service to Publix, Kiateh. Your best option is to discuss this with your store manager who is familiar with your work performance and can best advise you on your options.
