When a mother had a last-minute need for a specialty birthday cake, she knew her local Publix, #1412, Indian Head, South Carolina, might be able to help.
“My daughter’s birthday party was that afternoon, and she really wanted a special birthday cake. I was stressed because I knew time was running out. I ran to Publix in desperation and was shocked when Bakery Manager Mike Forgo and Decorator Jessica Guevara were able to complete an emergency order of a specialty birthday cake, completely on the fly,” explained the mother. “But even with their generous offer, I wasn’t sure I would have time to get ready for the party, pick up the cake and make it back in time for the celebration. That’s when Mike offered to personally deliver the cake. I was stunned. That wouldn’t happen anywhere but at Publix.”
Guests were just starting to arrive when Mike happily delivered the daughter’s birthday cake.
“The entire neighborhood was wowed by the cake and the level of service,” she said. “I am so thankful Mike was able to make this happen, and Jessica was able to create such a special cake under pressure.”
“We love Publix, and now our neighbors do, too! I trust our Publix Bakery team to make our special events that much more special because of their attention to detail, consistent high-quality products and the amazing level of service they provide. We will be back for years to come.”
Mike and Jessica were presented a gold coin by Assistant Store Manager James Lintal for their commitment to providing superior customer service.
The gold coin is presented to associates who embrace the Publix culture and provide premier service the way Mr. George himself would have.
