We’re suckers for succulents! Their unique shapes, colors, and sizes, mean you can’t go wrong adding a few to your shopping cart to take home. Did you know there are more than 500 types of succulents? While we offer a wide selection, the most popular kinds of succulents you’ll see in our stores are echeveria, haworthia and aloe vera. Welcome to your one stop for everything you need to know.

Echeveria

There are about 150 types of echeveria succulents, and most are known for their rosette-shaped leaves. One of the most common varieties is known as Echeveria runyonii, which grows long stems that sprout star-shaped flowers.

  • Size: Can reach 12 inches in height once fully mature.
  • Water: Water when soil feels dry.
  • Soil: Use a sandy potting soil that drains well.
  • Sunlight: Keep in indirect sunlight.

Haworthia

Like echeveria, there are quite a few varieties of haworthia succulents sold in our stores. Many of them are known for their tall stems, especially the aloe haworthia.

  • Size: Some are smaller, reaching only 2 inches in height, but some can grow to 12 feet tall at their peak.
  • Water: Water when soil feels dry.
  • Soil: Use a sandy potting soil that drains well.
  • Sunlight: Keep in indirect sunlight.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is normally known for its medicinal properties, but it’s also part of the succulent family and a nice addition to your succulent garden.

  • Size: Can reach 24 to 40 inches once fully grown.
  • Water: Water when soil feels dry.
  • Soil: Use a sandy potting soil that drains well.
  • Sunlight: Keep in partially shaded light.
