Using food as a centerpiece serves as both décor and a tasty treat! A great centerpiece for any party is a Publix cake.  Don’t know where to start? How about with red, white, and blue colors for this 4th of July celebration.  Our associates will be happy to help you in designing the perfect one. You can order online or in-store 24 hours in advance and voila!

Flowers

One way to brighten up a room is with a beautiful bouquet. If you don’t have time to build your own, pick one up at your local Publix. We have many different varieties including a red, white, and blue one made especially for the 4th of July!

Looking to add some pizazz to the drinks you’re serving? Fill an empty ice tray with fruits in the red, white, and blue hues, top with water and freeze overnight. Some great fruits to use are blueberries and raspberries. You can also purchase frozen berries and use these instead of ice! Whether you use them in water, punch, or another drink of choice, your guests will be delighted with this festive hack.

CH_4thofjuly_Body1Banners

Banners go a long way when it comes to dressing up a room, easily spreading and filling the space you’re working with. Banners can be made with a variety of materials. Anything from colored paper to cardboard, plastic bags turned into tassels to different sized ribbons can be used to build one. In the example to the left you can see that we mixed and matched ribbons that went with our Independence Day theme.  This is just one way to build your own banner!

Foods

When it comes to red, white, and blue foods, there are a wide variety of options. You can opt for foods that come in those tones directly from nature, like blueberries and raspberries, or you can dye your own with food coloring! Check out the ideas below for some inspiration.

    • Layer red, white, and blue gelatin to make a festive desert.
    • Make a fruit salad with strawberries, watermelon and blueberries and add some marshmallows as the final touch.
    • Roll Publix ice cream sandwiches in red, white, and blue sprinkles.
    • Mix in some red and blue candy with popcorn for a salty and sweet snack.
    • Dye the filling of your deviled eggs red or blue with a few drops of food coloring.
    • Dip ice cream cones into melted white chocolate and add red, white, and blue sprinkles to the border before it dries.
    • Check out other ideas on publix.com by browsing for red, white, or blue ingredients—such as watermelon, berries, bleu cheese, desserts.
    • Another great place to look is Pinterest.

Celebrate this Independence Day with simple and colorful decorations. We look forward to seeing how you decided to decorate your home. Post your pictures to Instagram or Facebook and tag them with #Publix for us to follow along!

When choosing what to write about, she thinks about her own life and what she wants to know more about – that way she can learn something new, too! Although her favorite Publix brand product is the Bakery Carrot Cake, you’ll probably find her snacking on peppers and drinking lots of water when writing her blogs. Outside of work, Catalina enjoys fitness, reading, crafting, and exploring new things (do you see a theme here?).
