Dipped Bananas on Tray

In the heat of summer, one of my favorite sweet treats is dipped bananas. I love purchasing premade dipped bananas in the frozen section from my local store, but over the past few years, I’ve fallen in love with making my own. Since I can customize them with my favorite toppings, there are many different combinations to try. As a bonus, they’re quick and easy to make and are a great treat to come home to during the summertime.

An A-peel-ing Dessert

You can make dipped bananas in just a few steps.

  • Peel and cut the bananas in half.
  • Place a stick into the banana and place on a cooking tray lined with wax paper.
  • Put the tray into the freezer for at least two hours.
  • Heat your melting chocolate according to the instructions on the packaging.
  • Dip the bananas into the melted chocolate and gently place them back onto the cooking sheet.
  • Sprinkle the bananas with your topping of choice.
  • Place the tray of bananas back into the freezer to harden.
  • Enjoy! Frozen bananas can last up to three months when kept in a plastic bag in your freezer.

Dipping Bananas Into Chocolate

While making your bananas is fairly tame, there are some tips that can help you make the best dipped bananas possible.

  • Using a good quality melting chocolate will help make it easier to dip the bananas. Melting chocolate can be found in the baking aisle in our stores and will be labeled to specify that it’s used for making candy or dipping items.
  • Place your melting chocolate into a tall glass. This will also make the dipping process easier.
  • Try only dipping the bananas ¾ of the way to the stick to make the process a little bit less messy

Top Them Off

Don’t skimp out on the toppings! Complete your dipped bananas with all your favorites. Here are some of ours.
