The holidays are special. For many, this is the time of year we’re able to spend time with our family and loved ones. A Publix customer reached out to our customer care team in January to tell us about an experience around Christmas with Publix in Cape Coral, Florida at the Santa Barbara Centre. Unfortunately, our customer who called was unable to take time off work during the holidays to visit his mother who lives in Cape Coral in an assisted living facility. Her birthday also happens to be around this time.
It was the first year he was unable to visit his mother during the Christmas season and for her birthday. Devastated and heartbroken that he would not be able to spend time with his mother, he reached out to a Publix in his mother’s area. He spoke with Crystal Printz, the assistant store manager at store #452, about his situation. Crystal offered her sympathies for him not being able to be there and offered to help.
Crystal and her store manager, Bill Hahn, quickly sprang into action. They delivered a Christmas tree, a birthday cake and decorations for the tree and room and spent some time with her on her birthday. The customer called to let us know how happy he was about what Crystal and Bill did for his mother’s birthday and Christmas. “My mother was so happy. Bill Hahn and Crystal Printz went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined, and I am so grateful for 8hem.” We couldn’t be prouder either. Way to go, Crystal and Bill!
