Publix Supports the United Way

For some, the month of September means the start of cooler weather, college football and fall-flavored treats, like pumpkin spice! For Publix associates, it means it’s time for our annual United Way fundraising efforts. If you’re not familiar with United Way, its overall mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good – and Publix is proud to be involved with this organization.

What is United Way?

United Way supports local agencies in our communities by helping people with many different needs. This includes people with physical and mental disabilities, seniors who need their meals delivered and many more. United Way fights for people to get better jobs and achieve financial stability, for students to graduate high school and get prepared for college and careers and also for encouraging individuals to lead healthier lives.

How is Publix involved?

United Way is a national organization, but all money raised for the organization remains in the community local to where it was raised. This way, each community benefits from money raised locally.

Did you know Publix is consistently one of the top donors to the United Way in the United States? That wouldn’t be possible without the amazing associates who are dedicated to giving and making our United Way donation campaign a success every year. Some of our associates even volunteer with agencies supported by the United Way. Publix associates are not only committed to donating, they are also committed to improving lives in their communities.
