Sam Adams Octoberfest

It may be August, but we’re already dreaming of Samuel Adams Octoberfest brew. In 1810, the Oktoberfest tradition was born when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and a 16-day party. Today, millions of people from all over the world still celebrate in Germany. The 16 to 18 day folk festival runs from mid-September to the first weekend in October.

This Märzen-style beer was first brewed in 1989 and has a blend of hearty malts for a deep, smooth flavor with notes of caramel. Its color is a deep red amber, which we think perfectly matches the season.

Food Pairings

The smoothness and roasted malt character of Octoberfest make it a great pairing with roasted meats, which brings out a bit of sweetness in the beer that perfectly balances the savory flavors of the meat. This beer also cuts through the richness of creamy dishes like mac and cheese or crème brûlée. Try some of these dishes and recipes when enjoying your next bottle of Octoberfest.

Appetizers

Hummus, Beer Cheese Soup, Crab Cakes, Mac n’ Cheese and Sausage Cheese Poppers.

Entrees

Sausage Hoagies , Mini Baked Reubens, Bavarian Tacos and Pretzel Crusted Dogs.

Desserts

Maple Tarts, Sweet and Salty Toffee Bites and Chocolate Mascarpone Pudding.

This season, try enjoying a Samuel Adams Octoberfest. It’s as refreshing as that! Drink responsibly.  Be 21.
